  • The best JCVD movie since JCVD

    [Highly rated reviewer]

It's the JCVD movie we've all been waiting for since... er... JCVD. Back to his best form, JC strains every acting sinew to play a lone assassin who is asked to kill somebody for money, but then it all goes wrong and blah blah blah... team up with other assassin...blah blah blah... love interest etc.

Let's be honest, the plot doesn't matter. We're not expecting Hamlet and JC knows this. What we get is a constipated performance featuring the usual existentialist philosophical reflections that must taunt lone assassins ('...but am ah alahve eef ah don't feel?') punctuated by a lot of fabulous botty kicking.

There was a risk that JCVD was reaching the end of his shelf life. Films, like the recent emetic 'The Shepherd' suggested we weren't taking him seriously any more and that future roles would be Straight to Streaming. This film, though, takes us right back to the glory days of Timecop and Universal Soldier. How long before the JCVD / Jason Statham blockbuster that our culture so richly deserves?

Was a bit worried at the start of film as it seemed very slow. But soon picked up and was entertaining with blood and gore etc. Watch the deleted items when you get to end of film.

  • Van Damme comes of age ...finally

I would normally stay well clear of Van Damme films which revolved around him loving himself, poor acting and rubbish stories...but I was surprised to find him to be an impressive villain in The Expandables 2. He didn't disappoint in Assassination Games either ...after all these years, I'm starting to like him (never thought I would say that!)

  • Assassination Games, good plot blood, thirsty at times.

    Rated - 3.5 stars

A typical Jean Claude Van Damme film good plot plenty of action if a little to blood thirsty at times.

Two hit men have to work together to reach and kill their target one does it for money and the other for revenge in this case.
