Better than the original 1976 movie and a new believable change of plot.By Jim from Bromsgrove UK , 31 Jan 2005
[Highly rated reviewer]Better than the original 1976 movie this 2004 remake has a very believable change of plot, which works very well.
Ethan Hawke & Lawrence Fishburn take the starring roles in this drama.
Gabriel Byrne plays the baddy (as usual) but is not really as convincing as he is in other films.
A film, which will pass a few hours while you watch it.

Assault on precinct 13By a customer from west yorkshire , 17 Feb 2010Took a while to get going but overall a good film. would reccomend this film.
Good, but the original is betterBy Jammy74 (67 reviews) from Felixstowe, UK , 11 Feb 2010The original Assault On Precinct 13 was a bloodthirsty schlocker of a thriller which didn't hold back in its violence. It's regarded as something of a cult classic, and I'm not sure if it was in need of a remake.
Times have changed, and this version is much more of a standard action thriller. The shocking content of the original is gone, making this movie more conventional. It's all very well done and perfectly competent. The plot is a bit hokey but it does the job, as does the script.
It's worth a watch if you like a good action film, but I think the ageing original has the edge as it was groundbreaking for its time and still stands up as an example of 70s cinema today.
Violent ThrillerBy a customer from Southend-on-Sea , 18 Jan 2010Alright, but not gripping enough for more stars

Great Action!By Jordan (301 reviews) from London , 27 Aug 2009What a movie!
I loved the whole concept of the movie, where both criminals and cops must work together in order to survive.
Each character was presented well and expressed their emotions realistically.
