Delightful for 30 somethings and children alike.

Having read all the Asterix books as a child, I have viewed (along with my two boys aged 7) all the Asterix films available and with mixed results. Others aside, this is a true rendition from the book and well drawn and the film has captured the spirit of Asterix and all the other characters.- Was this review helpful to you?

(10)Asterix finally gets a decent film
By vidmon (52 reviews) , 17 Nov 2012Asterix is a staple of 80s/90s childhood, the comics are generally a work of art, especially with the characters names having double entendres. Getafix the druid who provides a magic potion that dubs strength on the person who drinks it. Still a classic
So what of this Hollywood dubbing of the French animated film. It has to be said it's well done provide decent if unspectacular laughs and the voice actors for the most part are well chosen.
It's a wacky adventure, where both the put upon pirates and Romans get cameos, and remix of the classic eye of the tiger is done in good humour.
Overall worth a watch if you are a fan of Asterix, if not then you might wonder what all the fuss is about.- Was this review helpful to you?

Asterix and the Vikings
By byGrace (23 reviews) from Truro , 28 Feb 2009Brilliant characterisation in true Asterix style. Appeals to both the boys (obligatory yet comical fight scenes) and the girls (a love story with a twist and even the occassional fascinating dance scenes). Love the way they put a comical twist on what's modern and cool to youngsters now and re-translated it into Asterix's time. Very enjoyable.- Was this review helpful to you?

Too Hollywoodized
By a customer from Glasgow, Scotland , 22 Nov 2008A bit too hollywoodized and overdramatic, seems more like a crass teenage remake, skip it unless you are a 16-year-old waiting for your prince.- Was this review helpful to you?
