Being an Asterix fan, I couldn't wait for this film to be released on DVD, as it had not been out in any of the cinemas near us after original release.
The previous live action Asterix films are been brilliant, so I expected something similar.
You can see that a lot of money and effort went into this film. The special effects are spectacular, and the cameos of real-life sports stars work really well.
However, the storyline doesn't, and I can't put my finger on why that is. Is it the original material, or the added love story subplot?
All I can say is that I felt disappointed. Maybe they should have stopped at 'Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra'
