Astro Boy is created when an accident of robotics results in the death of the world’s most brilliant scientist’s son Toby.

Dr Tenma (played by Nicolas Cage) in an utter state of despair, uses his son’s DNA to make the most powerful robot ever - in a world filled with robots but one that is complete with all of his dead son’s memories.

Unfortunately the new Toby, whilst having the memories and characteristics of the old Toby, he is quite a different “boy.”

He acts with a different character, and has his own ideas.

To Dr Tenma’s sadness, it turns out that instead of bringing his son back, he has only managed to create a living clone of Toby and he is left more haunted by his son’s death than before.

Toby the astro boy learns that his father wants to deactivate him. At the same time, the evil President of Metro City learns that the blue core was not destroyed in that initial experiment that went wrong and is powering Toby.

Unwanted by his father and especially wanted by President Stone, Toby accidentally escapes to Pleasure Island, which is the surface of the planet.

It is soon discovered that Metro City is a floating city, and that the surface of the planet is mostly a waste of scrap that Metro City simply throws overboard.

Toby finds a group of orphans who are led by robot tech Ham Egg and like everyone else on the surface, it is a group of the unwanted and outcast trying to make do with what they can.

What happens next.....add this film to your list to find out !!!!!

Interesting story with good animation will entertain anybody who loves good heroes, as Astroboy is certainly one of the most loving and positive characters I have seen in the past year.

If you like the astroboy series then you'll probably enjoy it. If not, you'll probably get 1 or 2 laughs out of it.
