superb family filmBy williamsgwynfa (627 reviews) from gwaenysgor , 21 May 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]this dvd is superb. Milo Thatch ( voiced by Michael J. Fox), is a historian and adventure seeker, who has been searching for the lost continent of Atlantis for years.
Being aided financially with a crew that is well equiped, and the expertise of the leader of the expedition Commander Rourke (voiced by James Garner), Milo searches for the continent, braving obstacles set in place to dissuade travellers, such as the giant kraken, that guards the entrance to an undersea cave.
After the encounter with the creature, the expedition is severely reduced.
Fortunately Milo is quite knowledgeable, and eventually the crew reach the lost city and meet Kida, the King's daughter who along with Milo, tries to solve a mystery involving the city, and rescue it from those who want to exploit the city itself.
Soon Milo, finds himself at odds with Commander Rourke, and other members of the crew, as they reveal the real purpose they came to Atlantis.
Will Milo and the Atlanteans survive the catastrophe that is about to occur?
and will Milo and the beautiful Atlantean - Kida fall in love?
watch this fantastic film to find out.

entertainingBy a customer from kent , 12 Dec 2004Great watching for my little girl
Not Disney's best!By a customer from Wandsworth, London , 16 Nov 2004As a fan of animation, I was looking forward to watching this film. I'd seen a trailer several years ago, and the visuals looked very impressive.
However, I was left very disappointed. The story is very poor, and I doubt children would really understand what is going on. The characters are equally as dismal, possessing the same depth as their 2D avatars.
The animation is okay, with a nice blend of computer and hand drawn animation, but this is not enough to make up for the poor, confusing, and tiresome story.
Definitely not a good choice for kids - they'll quickly become bored!

Not one for the very youngBy a customer from Gloucestershire , 06 Jun 2004This was a run of the mill Disney film with the usual good graphics, but lacked all the charm of the old classics or the lovable characters of the pixar/Disney films such as Monsters Inc.
I think older children who are into animation would enjoy this, but I found it rather dark with lots of fast-paced underwater chases and little story.
The Lost city of AtlantisBy a customer from England , 02 Feb 2004My 9 year old daughter (who dosen't usually sit totally still when watching a video/DVD, did so for this film. She said she enjoyed it and gave it 7/10.
I watched a bit of it, not one of the best Disney films i've seen, but certainly not one of the worst.
