A lovely film, nicely shot, and produced; with the right level of sentimentality. It cannot be other than predictable, but having said that, it takes you on an interesting journey and produces the right level of lumps in your throat to keep you engaged. The performances (all but Robin Williams) are convincing, and the lead Freddie Highmore, as the young music prodigy, delivers a sparkling performance. Good clean family entertainment, with some pauses, but all in all worth viewing for the emotion it portrays alone.
August Rush does not tax your brain.its a simple movie with nothing great to write home about. too many coincidences. acting's so-so but some nice music scores. all in all, an ok popcorn film.
