Julie Christie shines in Alzheimer's drama...

How insulting!By Dominic O'Callaghan from Londonderry , 28 Dec 2007
[Highly rated reviewer]I hardly know where to begin! Anyone who has first hand knowledge of dementia would be shocked at this movie. it is all one enormous lie from start to finish .Where is the horror , the trauma ,the cruel deterioration, the grief? Julie Christie DECIDES it is time to go in to the nursing home. [ In your dreams!].Whoever wrote this screen play should have done honest research before hand. It is not an easy subject matter for a movie .It is very insulting !

Away from HerBy allypally (76 reviews) from Basingstoke , 27 Mar 2009Found this film to be rather tedious which was disappointing . Was looking forward to seeing Julie Christie but the storyline was not what I expected.
Utter drivelBy a customer from Lewes , 19 Feb 2009This could have been good - but there were glaring problems with the story - threads not taken up - story holes everywhere. And sooooo drawn out in grey pink-rinse waffle. Yes - Julie C is an old favourite but it shouldn't blind you to the truth of the long drawn out blandness of this film. It could have been excellent - but like the JC character - after a midway point this film it lost itself, forgot its thread and petered out with an insignificant damp fizzle. Sorry.
away from herBy osgood (6 reviews) from Colchester , 18 Feb 2009the performances were superb and the subject matter thought provoking.
Christie was back to her very best.
The soundtrack fits perfectly with the film - moving.
If you like acting - watch this.
A "Must see" filmBy a customer from Congresbury , 11 Feb 2009Beautiful and poignant film about love and letting go.
Julie Christie is amazing
