If you're reading this, you have made it to the Azumanga Daioh review section! If you decide to watch this unique series, you will be treated to one of the most celebrated, insane and and hilarious Japanese shows this side of Excel Saga. The characters are each unique in personality and individually loveable and the plot, although sparse on an overall story, are a series of interlinked sketches that anyone and everyone with a sense of humour and nostalgic memories of school are bound to get a kick out of. The theme songs are simply to die for too, a mixture of wacky beats and J-pop that will have you humming hours later.
And if you are reading this review as a fan of Azumanga, well done! Have some 'sora mimi cake' ^^
Initailly this anime offering left me a little cold but I think this is only due to the viewers instant submersion in a world he/she knows little or nothing of. Onece you have come to recognise the characters this is a charming and addictive animation that was probably aimed at children in Japan but with that strange adult appeal over here.
Funny and cute in equal measures, just don't go expecting giant robots or ninjas slugging it out.
