This is one funny Japanese anime. However, you will need to know some Japanese culture to fully understand all the jokes.
If you prefer to watch something that is just totally insane, I recommend Excel Saga.
Overall, Azumanga Daioh is a pretty fun-ny (Fun + Funny) cartoon to watch. Hope it will entertain you as much as it entertained me.
