A nice introduction into Blaxploitation films
By Mike from London , 01 Jun 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
If your interested in the Blaxploitation period of films, then this DVD is a must for you. Has interviews with all the main actors, actresses & producers such as Fred Williamson, Gloria Henry, Melvin Van Peebles & of course the one & only Pam Grier. DVD explains how the genre came to be, the popularity & then the demise of the genre. A worthwhile contribution from Samuel L.Jackson.
If there is a downside to this DVD it's Quienten Tarrantino's annoying comments. Other than that I would highly recommend it. Not much though in the way of extra's other than extended interviews with Fred "the Hammer" Williamson, Pam Grier, Tarrantino & Gloria Henry.- Was this review helpful to you?

Nice summary
By a customer from Godalming, Surrey , 29 Sep 2004This is a generally a really good piece of work, really tight (only 60 minutes) so it doesn't repeat itself. It does give some light to the criticisms towards blaxploitation films rather than just discussing its merits.
It does have too much emphasis on Quentin Tarantino and this belief that it is a respectable medium of film because Tarantino used some of its traits in Jackie Brown.
Overall though, very good.- Was this review helpful to you?
