Not since George Raft has a bad guy been able to trip the light fantastic as well as Shahrukh Khan. One of the most popular villains in recent Bollywood history, he turns in an impeccable performance of malevolent charm in this psychological masala from directing duo Abbas/Mustan. Equally impressive is Kajol, as the beauty who discovers that the supposedly deceased killer of her sister is alive, well and on her trail. The music is every bit as important as the melodrama, but a little more suspense might not have gone amiss.
This truly was the entry point of when Sharukh Khan turned from being just another Bollywood actor, to one who is celebrated today as the King of Bollywood.
With an intense gripping story line, which keeps you guessing and at seat edge throughout, this film also provided the light hearted comedy, song and dance that you would expect from any Bollywood great.
My favorite the final fight scene, being one of the most graphic, and heart thumping fight scenes that I had witnessed, in 1993 was the Pinnacle of the movie.
Fantastic Acting from Sharukh Khan, as well as great performances from the the legendary Jonny Lever, who provided the greatest comedy touches at the right time.
A must see, if you truly believe you are a Bollywood fan.
It is a good movie to watch for once. The songs are good. the storyline is a different to other usual bollywood movies. both the female actors are new but they perform their roles well.
