Taking a trip to the city with Babe...By Maleman (2 reviews) from Beckenham , 15 Jul 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]Hmmm... what can I say about Babe - Pig in the City? Like a trip to one of those little farms for Inner City Kids after taking a shed load of acid... not that I've done that of course.
So - Pig in the City - exactly what it says on the tin, Babe, our hero Pig from the Oscar Nominated first film goes off to the City for reasons you'll discover, here he meets loads of new characters that are not in the first film which give the sequel makers a chance to show off their animal training skills once again... Monkeys, Dogs, Cats, Reptiles... you name it. Outstanding animal training and great sets. The story is not a classic but this film held my attention and entertained in equal doses. A lot darker feel to it than the first film, its good, but doesn't hit the heights of the first, which was a 'classic'. Watch this if you are over 18 and a fan of the first film... keep it away from kids - its some warped imagination that comes up with a dog in a wheelchair and a gentleman Orangutan.

MarvellousBy Ray from Northampton , 04 Jun 2005A sheer delight. Lots of laughs but some darker moments. 4 1/2 out of five would have been more accurate as there were a few dull bits. Humans were often shown, accurately, as being sub-animal. The animals' characterisation was spot on and the dialogue a laugh a minute. The film left us with plenty to think about in connection with our treatment of animals.
Not a Good SequelBy Sarah from Bristol , 08 May 2005The film was ok, but nowhere near as good as the first one. I was dissappointed, but it is still a good family movie I suppose.
