This is an excellent portrayal of how people react and come to terms with the thought of bringing up a child and when you can juggle work with it all then even better although when watching this it looks difficult at first after a while you see it isn't really that difficult.

  • A lovely film to watch over and over!

This is such a lovely film. Dated yes, but still has the main points which makes up any good film. Diane Keaton is great as always; playing the hard New York business woman - turned soft (in a good way...) when she inherits a distant cousin's baby. The film revolves around Keaton's character but Keaton holds this up very well. You have real empathy for her & want her to succeed, especially near the end back at the Lawyers office! Full of laughs, a real feel good film :-) Will watch again and again!

I watch this probably once every two months. It's right there for you when you've had a really bad week that you feel like you're never going to come back from. This film turns that mood right around. I love it, and think every woman can relate to J.C., even if they like kids.

i'd got this to see sam shepherd, and i was disappointed in how he was directed in this one - the movie sort of falls into two parts and he is the light of the protagonist's (diane keaton) eye when she arrives in this small town having abandoned all for the new baby she's taken on - while that's totally plausible, she does all the initiating of the love affiair except that he makes a dive for her in love-making. reasonably up-beat, and diane keaton is even fun to watch, but it is not a great flick. diverting.

Inheriting a baby from a cousin Diane Keaton [Father Of The Bride] can barely remember both Diane & boyfriend Harold Ramis [Groundhog Day] situation is only temporary; their live-in partnership & careers will resume after she arranges adoption…

Totally cool movie sure to get you into a mushy mood. A nice blend of drama & romance [Diane Keaton is the hot-babe] with echo’s to the present day. Watch by yourself with an ice-cold Pepsi or Asti; even better with that ‘special someone’. If you have the time I recommend you take a restroom break & follow with Groundhog Day [link being Harold Ramis].

Okay, it's a bit out-dated now, however it remains a watchable movie when there's nothing else on. Diane Keaton stars as the hardened career woman who is forced to get in touch with her maternal instinct when she inherits a baby. She gives up her city job and starts business producing home-made apple sauce. Keaton is a great actress and this film is moderately better than “Look who’s talking” AND “Three men and a baby”. I've been on the kinder side awarding stars on this film.
