An emotionally charged, headline-making true story is given the thriller treatment by director Joyce Chopra, who turns here to TV movies following limited success with cinema-released features such as 1985's Smooth Talk starring Laura Dern. Veronica Hamel, best known for her role as lawyer Joyce Davenport in the TV series Hill Street Blues, plays a woman who plans to abduct a baby following her miscarriage. Michael Madsen, the ear-slicing Mr Blonde in Reservoir Dogs, plays Hamel's husband, while X-Files star David Duchovny also puts in an appearance. Overall, a fair attempt at a tough subject.
Without giving too much of the story away i would just like to say that i feel sorry for the biological mother and that the other woman was in the wrong (in my opinion that is).
David Duchovny should stick to playing Moulder, his better character.
