'Crusade' picks up the torch from Babylon 5, beginning in the late 23rd century, as humanity defeats the evil Shadow race. But its allies remain - and they swear revenge...When the mysterious, hateful Drakh unleash a deadly biogenetic plague on Earth, mankind faces its demise within five years unless the Rangers - an elite army of light forged with the Minbari during civilisation's darkest hours - can find a cure. Now, in a ceaseless battle against time and the dangers of deep space, the Rangers aboard the advanced prototype starship 'Excalibur' boldly pursue their mission: to find a cure for the plague and to destroy the Drakh and their alien allies. Diplomacy and negotiation mean nothing. With 7 billion lives at stake, action and courage against insurmountable odds must prevail in this crusade. Political intrigue, challenging philosophical ideals and hilarious comedy blend with high-octane action and spine-tingling drama

I remember Babylon 5 as being well written with good actors, a space drama, (I was a hooked fan and watched it every week without fail). I don't know if I was just younger then and easier to please. But this spin off, I just don't like it. The acting is terrible, the writing is bad (and this is supposed to be a programme with great writing).
Disagree or agree, one thing is for sure, it was either directed really badly or no effort was put into this, it didn't seem like they really wanted this show to succeed. It might have got better as the show went along, but they needed to hook us earlier or they would have had a better chance of not getting cancelled.
Follwing on from 'A Call to Arms' this truncated series follows the attempts by the crew of the Exhalibur to find an antidote to the Drakh virus infecting Earth. The first episode gives the basic characters and sets the scene, the second gives us an insight into the Technomages with a friend of Galen, and the third shows that Galen does occasionally have an agenda of his own.
My rating of only 3 stars is less to do with the stories themselves than with disappointment with the DVD - only three episodes per disk (compared to Bab5's four) and presented in standard screen format only, when Babylon 5's DVD release gave us widescreen.
