    [Highly rated reviewer]

1930's gangsters, eccentric robbers, major chaos on a train and...immortals.

With a plot that changes position in a similar fashion to pulp fiction you may find that you rely on the opening credits to remember who all the characters are, but that doesn't alter the magnificence of the story arc.

Dating back to the 1700's where a crew of scientists and alchemists conjure a devil who grants them immortality. The fallout from this 'experiment' has repercussions that affect many people in America in the 1930's when one participant recreates the elixir.

The main story covers a span of three years documenting how a new batch of immortals comes into being and the large cast of characters interact with one another and deal with the inevitable troubles of human immortality.

From the end of the first disc you can sense that something big is on the horizon amd that all the charcters will bring it to a crescendo that questions the meaning of existence.

With action, adventure, comedy and crime abound with a memorable cast and intricate detail to the background and colour of 1930's America. This is one anime that shouldn't be missed.

Absolutely phenomenal stuff. Fantastic op theme. Gorgeous artwork. Not one unlikeable character. Twisty but coherent plot. I. Love. This. Show. So. Very. Much. 9. 75/10, so very close to perfection.
