this dvd series is superb. Bad Girls Series 1 introduces you to the world of female criminals in a typical women's prison.

At HMP Larkhall, a fictional prison in London, things are not as normal as you'd expect, especially on G Wing, the wing that the series is based upon. Wing Governor Helen Stewart has to cope with the trauma of running G Wing, with troublesome prisoners, bent officers and poor management from, Prison Governor Simon Stubberfield.

As the gates of HMP Larkhall open, the inmates are rehearsing a fashion show for the prison visitors.

We are introduced to Shell Dockley, top dog of G Wing, Jim Fenner, the worst principal officer an inmate could have, and the 2 Julies, a comical twosome.

In this series, Wing Governor Stewart has to tackle drugs, corruption and her own personal problems as she realises her feelings for an inmate.

    well worth renting out.

This soap opera is outstanding. The stories, the characters, the love stories everything is well thought and delivered.

And in the other hand it's a breakthrough for the lesbian community as it continuosly shows love stories and lust between women in a tabooless manner.

    Definitely worth watching

It was good to see the first series again, just a shame that all series one episodes were on one disc. As I know have to wait for the others to arrive. Its just a shame that it didn't continue, as I use to enjoy watching this on a Thursday evening, Good to see all the old characters again. Would recommend only to those who liked the tv series - otherwise its not worth watching.

This series was o.k however there is only so much that can happen in a prison, my wife lived it however I thought it was bit boring.
