superb...............By williamsgwynfa (627 reviews) from gwaenysgor , 12 Apr 2008
[Highly rated reviewer]this dvd is superb. My daughter wanted to watch it, and she was really glad that she did. Catherine Tate is superb, and we were very surprised, at how much she makes you like/dislike/and like her character again, throughout the drama by connecting with the audience, which is a hard thing to do!
There were some well placed parts which had us laughing a lot, (the peanuts spring to mind!).
It was all subtly done, and added at just the right places, to appear seamlessly with the story, and not done just for the comedy effect.
Watching the relationships between all of the characters, and what it means to be a 'mum' was beautifully done. It was such an enjoyable comedy drama to watch, which can be watched over and over, without getting tired of it.
We'd recommend this to anyone looking for a film with heart and comedy in bucketfuls.

Not enough R PatzBy Wil7178 (11 reviews) from North East , 22 Aug 2012Catherine Tate in a serious role and very Good at it, a touching story with an unexpected twist..... not enough rob for me but glad to have seen another one of his movies :)
Really glad I gave it a chanceBy foxygirl (20 reviews) from Cumbria , 25 Sep 2011I wasn't sure about this one, mainly because I've not been a huge fan of Catherine Tate in the past. However, I take it all back. She was really great. The gran and daughter also played brilliant parts, with some brutally honest moments. Robert Pattinson was genius as the ultra awkward, sweet and unexpected friend of the daughter, Charlie. It was so nice to hear his British voice (but I thank god they didn't ask him to do the Northern accent - that could have been interesting!) and to see him in a comedic role, a path he should follow more often I think, as he's naturally so funny.

Brilliant!By Lauren Edwards from Middlesex, England. , 19 May 2011I only put this on my list because Robert Pattinson was in it and I wanted to see him playing a British person for a change. But I have to say I loved it!! The whole cast were brilliant, Catherine Tate especially! Its only an hour and 10 mins long, quite short and sweet but a fantastic TV movie! Would recommend to anyone.
