  • A traditional emotional drama...

Baghban is a wonderful film. The music is absolutely top-notch and is one that is traditional to its very core. Performances by Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini are the highlight of the film; it's truly superb to see the two magas of yesteryears come back at this time in the film industry. The story addresses a very true fact in an around India today and one the youth should take note and look at closely. It will certainly make you realise and cry. The only downfall for the film was that it wasn't executed in such a grand scale as it, I feel, should have been. Nonetheless, this film will still spring those heartstrings.

Rented this film out as someone suggested it. Mr Bauchan is a wonderful actor of the older generation. What is expected from a father by his so called son's was a disgrace in this film. Found it a very emotional film and my wife could not stop crying towards the end of the film.

The best word I can use to describe this film is NAUSEATING. The only positives I can take from it are 1) Hema looked beautiful throughout & 2) the ending wasn't as predictable as I would have expected. Nonetheless I would NOT recommend this one!

  • Tearjerker!

No I didnt cry in this movie, but I have never seen my girl-friend cry this much in a movie before. I remember at some point, she said that she didnt like the movie coz it was so sad. Though, its a good movie, its no masterpiece. But tackling a great romance between Hema Malini and Amitabh Bachchan, this chemistry really sizzles on screen. The legends show how romance can be carried out between a pair without needing strong support from various other factors, that the newbees seem to rely on.

Good performances by the veteran actors, and rest of the cast were allright too. Sometimes the movie seems to be unrealistic in the way people behave, and you feel that Ravi Chopra has gone back to Mahabharat/Ramayan times. But its a good premise nonetheless, and inspite of being predictable, it a must watch! You may not consider it great, but you wont regret seeing it too.

PS: I have seen it 3 times (due to once being forced by family and now girl-friend) and each time the movie seems to grow on me.

  • Good traditional, wholesome story

Baghban typifies the old style of Bollywood drama which always centers on morals and traitional Indian family values.

Bollywood Gods Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini are at their very best. They share amazing on screen chemistry and as always demonstrate superb acting during some very emotionally charged, dramatic scenes and monalogues. Sickeningly they both look stunning together - even if they are around 60 years old!

Amitabh sings a couple of his own songs which is a real treat and dances very well in both traditional and more modern dance routines.. ...where DO his talents end?

I highly recommend his film.. but one word of warning would be to keep a very large box of kleenex handy since this is a heart wrencher and a tear jerker!

  • Good movie for parents and their children

Parents need to make sacrifices for the future of their children; children need to reward their parents for the scarifices made.

Honour your parents and you will be rewarded greatly.

Good chemistry between Hemaji and Amitabh. They both look lovely in this movie. They show you that it is possible to love, respect and honour your partner even after 40 yars of marriage.

Hope that is possible in real life!
