Hacking in the Wired World...
By TurboAdi (2 reviews) from Plymouth , 14 Apr 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
Pretty standard anime fare - but a good way to pass a couple of hours if that is your thing.
In a world where 'the wire' offers an escape from the harsher realities of the real world, groups of hackers battle (literally) against the forces of Flak (the military machine charged with protecting the wire) and VSS (the corporation that develops cutting edge security solutions to protect the wire from the hackers). But can anyone stand against the mysterious ghost in the wire that is killing off not only the online personae, but causing the real world bodies of wire users to die as well.
It's a well animated anime, with a reasonable english track, but don't expect anything revolutionary - in some respects it seems quite dated - with a decidedly 80s feel hard rock soundtrack and a lot of the ideas superceded by what is now available. Put the disc in, settle down, prepare to switch off your brain for a couple of hours and enjoy!- Was this review helpful to you?
