Anchored by actors Damian Lewis and Ron Livingston, the series gives detailed attention to their experiences as a group, as well as the way that each of them develops individually. Based on historian Stephen E. Ambrose's book of real-life accounts, BAND OF BROTHERS was executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks, who worked together on SAVING PRIVATE RYAN. Hanks also directed one episode, featuring his son, Colin Hanks.

ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!
This series makes for superb viewing. It comes up with the trumps in every area: acting, characterisation, direction, production, cinematography, music, make-up, storyline, sound, props, the whole thing. This is a class production from beginning to end and I thoroughly recommend it. It will be remembered for many years to come as the series that, like 24, changed televsion for ever.

Wonderfully stirring accounts that can't fail to move. The story is based on the book by Stephen Ambrose and tells of an American Airborne Divison, Easy Company, as they train for battle and then prepare the way for the Navy to invade on D-Day, by entering Occupied France in advance, to take positions and take out German guns. The drama is book-ended by actual accounts given by men who are obviously still choked by the memories of all that they did and saw in those years. Anyone watching, can't help but feel we owe these men a greater debt than can possibly be paid. Everyone should see this.
