    Avoid at all costs!!!

As a big Nic Cage fan, I was really looking forward to this. I was hoping it would be a ballsy action movie in the same shape as CON AIR and THE ROCK. Unfortunately we have the worst film of the year so far and perhaps Cage's worst movie of his career.

Don't let the trailer featuring car chases, explosions, gunplay and hand to hand combat fool you. This is a tediously slowburning drama/thriller with three action set pieces. Cage's character is eccentrically quirky throughout, but not in an enjoyable way. I found him quite irritating. As for someone who is an assassin trying to keep a low profile, a bizzare receading bouffant is not the answer.

Corny dialogue, second rate action and a steaming heap of a storyline. Belongs on the bottom shelf of the video shop next to Segal, and Van Damme, not on the big screen.

    Avoid!

    Truly awful

That's £6.50 and 90 mins of my life I'm never getting back.

Five people walked out of the cinema about 30 minutes in.

Dull and pointless - what was Nicholas Cage thinking?

    Absolute Rubbish!!

This is an appalling film by Nick Cage. A feeble and regurgitated story line, weak performance and yet for some reason i watched intently hoping..just hoping it will get better then.....it ended. Waste of time!!

    Enjoyable Action Movie

This follows the life of a hit man (Nic Cage) as he tells the audience about his rules for being the best at what he does. We follow him to Bankok for one of his assignments and most of the story is set there. It is cleverly put together and there is plenty of action, violence and a bit of blood, but it's not over the top with gore. I haven't seen the movie upon which this is based, so was completely open about what to expect. I would recommend you don't watch the trailer as that gave way too much away and yes, in places, it is a bit predictable. I also have to say I wasn't a fan of the ending which seemed a bit too abrupt and sudden, but then that mirrors the life of a hit man. I would recommend if you like action with story and I thought Nic Cage was excellent, but someone should tell him that long hair isn't good - didn't he learn that from 'Next'?

    Terrible

I usually don't take any notice of reviews and prefer to form my own opinions, but this film is awful!

There's just no purpose to it at all. It's boring slow and just doesn't make much sense.

After 25 minutes I gave up.

Save yourself time of posting the DVD back and rent another film.

    What's going on?

Why are people saying this filmis rubbish? Is it that they wanted a different ending? I think probably so. This film is certainly violent and you don't have to be Franz Kafka to understand the plot. Marcel Proust wouldn't watch it and say 'damn, I wish I wrote that!' but the same could be said of Resevoir Dogs and look how popular that was/is.

The stunts in this movie are fantastic and REAL Cage fans will not be disappointed. This film would NOT spoil your evening - it's really quite good.

    Do Not Watch This Movie!!!!!

I wish I had bothered to read the reviews for this film before I watched this!!! I had seen the trailer and it looked pretty good, loads of action etc but in reality it's a total dud.

I have see loads of Nicholas Cage's films and generally they are pretty good but this was such a waste of time, the plot is weak and the film never really seems to get going.

I kept thinking its gonna get better but it never did! The pace of the movie is so slow i actually fell asleep at one point!

Do yourself a favour and don't waste your time!

    Bangkok Dull

Being a big fan of Nick Cage and the Film Leon I thought I be on a winner with this film. Yet I fell like I ended up with the bronze medel here. Now I'm not saying avoid this film at all costs as Mr Cage can still make a bad film a little watchable and that why I given this a 2 star rating but I do have the feeling if it wasn't for the fact Nick Cage was the lead part, I do think I might of given this a 1 star rating.

I would sum up by saying that this film is something you could watch on a rainy day when there was no football on telly.
