    [Highly rated reviewer]

Excellent hard hitting drama about two brothers fighting to survive in urban Bangkok. Unstinting in it's portrayal of a violent society chewing up and spitting out what it doesn't want, Bankok Dangerous is unfliching tough stuff but worth the effort of your time. Another masterclass in writing for film by the Pang brothers.

Bad does not even come close to how terrible this film is. The acting, storyline and basically everything about it was just plain wrong. Do not waste your time on this.

  • Honestly a great film

A very, very good movie. To make a movie about a deaf person who's a hitman is hard as it is because it's a borderline comical concept but the creators of this mastered it. The music fits perfectly in every scene and the ending is befitting to a movie of this kind. This is a brilliant film and I recommend to everyone that they watch it and to do their best to try and ignore the avalanche of failure Nicholas Cage and co created with the American version.

Deaf mute boy gets bullied as kid and then discovers that not being able to hear and keeping his mouth shut naturally is passport to becoming successful hitman. Unfortunately he falls in love and his friend who taught him the ropes of business forgot to give him lesson about that, parhaps thinking he hadn't learned enough. Movingly tragic. In case you're not real boffs like me, durian is fruit that can cause excessive heat and it is believed to be harmful in combination with coffee or alcohol. It is believed to be aphrodisiac but also has overpowering odour. It is known as king of fruits.

  • Raw and fresh...

I rented this movie as I'd heard the USA remake (by the Pang Brothers) starring Nicholas Cage was bad. Anyways... Although the story is as old as the hills, the style is raw and fresh and makes you feel for the characters. The home movie flashbacks (complete with scratch lines) add to the depth of the main characters and the score is apt and gets the adrenaline racing. I have no intention of watching the remake now as it would spoil this movie.

I like to watch movies from the fast east and have been wanting to watch this one for a while but i was massively disappointed.

This film is very average compared to asian films like Infernal Affairs for example.

Dont bother unless you have a couple of hours to kill.
