and this is right up there with 'em!

NB: he's been in some pretty brilliant ones too, so my advice would be to not waste your time on this one, but go straight to For a Few Dollars More, and (if it's available) Sabata (but not 'Return of Sabata' or 'Carry on Sabata' or whater it's called).

Barquero is essentially about two baddies, one of whom (for no apparent reason) is as outrageously French as the French bloke in 'Monty Python & the Holy Grail' - and you'll take him just about as seriously. The other baddie I can't recall too well as I watched the film last week sometime, but I do remember he has a bath at one point and also wears a silly hat.

Anyway, they need to get across this river and the ferryman, our Lee Van has no intention of letting them take his boat. He has also rescued a bunch of settlers and a rather irritating preacher type (if only they'd got James Coburn for that part: he would have transformed the film), a hippie woman, and his unfeasably buxom girlfriend. Oh and a tracker type guy does something as well.

A tediously slow-moving stand off ensues, and you can pretty much guess the rest.

Funny: 'Bad Man's River' was also pretty awful, so maybe this terrific actor should stick to working in the desert. . .
