Unfairly denied a British cinema release after a disastrous US run, this sports spoof from director David Zucker (who made Airplane!, and the first two Naked Gun movies) is wildly offensive fun. It stars South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone, who play a pair of infantile slobs who invent a popular new game that combines the hoops of basketball with the runs of baseball — and a few sick twists of their own. There are more hits than misses in the slapstick gags, ultra-crude humour and numerous nods to sport, movies and South Park. There's also an eclectic cast that includes Robert Vaughn, Baywatch's Yasmine Bleeth and Ernest Borgnine, making this ideal Friday night fodder.

Anyone can be a sports star

One of my all time personal faves, this film is inventive and absolutely hilarious. Even funnier the second time round. Originally written by David Zucker (Naked Gun, Top Secret) the film has been over run by South Park gang, Matt Stone and Trey Parker. The story follows two unlikely athletes from their life as bums to Basketball sport super stars, and as normally happens anywhere near these boys, everyone gets dragged along for the journey.

    hilariously funny

could just be my sense of humour but the first time i watched this film i almost collapsed from lack of oxygen from laughing.

from the other reviews i must assume it is not to everyones taste but all my friends have seen it and said the same thing, if more comedys where like this no one would go out.

    Pure genius.

The crass writing of a Zucker with the flawless character work and total commitment of Trey and Matt. Another way - they take a kid waiting for a liver transplant on a tequila binge. And despite the huge hurdle of that being a terrible, obvious set piece - it's hilarious. If you like Trey and Matt's stuff and you like what a Zucker does (remember Kentucky Fried Movie?), this is sublime!

BTW, there are some execrable moments too. Ignore both of them.

    Silly but fun

This film was recommended to me by a friend (always risky!) but if you like the sillyness of something like Waynes World then this is for you. It is based on the premise that sports goals have become more of an attraction than the actual sport and two friends come up with a new sport on their front yard. When the love interest comes along the friends start to argue etc etc - not very original I know but some good laughs along the way

    dissapointing

Normally I avoid reviewing movies I haven't seen in full, but I feel I'm justified to here. I couldn't bear to watch the whole thing. The cast and writers are capable of much more than this. The concept of the movie is fine, but the jokes are weak and unoriginal, and the plot disjointed and flawed. Give it a miss.

    lame - but vaguely amusing

it's a good thing trey and matt didn't write this movie -because i would start to question their talent. Why they starred in it is anyone's guess

    Just Rent It

Ok this is stupid. Ok this is silly. But hey arent most of us? If you like your silly stupid comedies then this is the one. So many one liners and cheep puns you will be laughing the whole way through. And best of all it has Victoria Silsvedt Playmate Of The Year in it (though for only a few seconds). Isnt that enough reason to rent it?

    CLASSIC ZUCKER

This film benefits from the comedic talents of Stone, Parker & Bachar, their lowbrow humour helping to raise this film above most of the other films of its type. A host of excellent cameos also adds to the comedy, Robert Stack being the standout. If you like slapstick/toilet humour, you will love this - I know I did!

    Hilarious!!!

If you like your Matt Parker/Trey Stone films (Cannibal The Musical, Team America, South Park) then you will love this! Completely stupid fun!
