    Basic rubbish

    Cheeses rice!

It realy hurt me when I watched this film, which I thought was impossible!

Fair enough you get to see miss stones saggy breasts but there is just no way of discribing how awful, bland & boring it was.

The most thrilling part of the movie was when I saw the credits. Lets just say me and my grandma can make a better film with a sock and a stick as main actors.

    Very disappointing.

Loved it - does not deserve the criticism it got

The critics tore it apart unjustly. God knows why - it really isn't that bad. It must have just been fashionable to ridicule it.

The acting is good, London looks gorgeous as ever, and Sharon Stone is as sexy at 48 than she was in Basic Instinct 1 - possibly even sexier. Well, no, maybe that's stretching it a little far.

Morrissey (from 'Blackpool') is very good too, as is Thewliss. OK some of the script is a little cringey and was clearly not written by a Brit, but this is a minor point. As a whodunnit, it's perfect. Keeps you guessing throughout, in the same style as Basic Instinct 1. What more do you possibly want? Citizen bloody Kane? What do you expect from a sequel to Basic Instinct 1, fourteen years on? Well to be honest, I didn't expect anything nearly as good as this. I was pleasantly surprised, and if you have an open mind, so will you too.

Language can be a little fruity at times if that bothers you - but what film doesn't these days. Certainly didn't bother me, but I am sure it does some....

    Kind of campy fun!

Was there ANYONE who really was eagerly awaiting this film? However, it was sort of fun if you didn't tatke it too seriously. Sharon Stone hams it up big time, and is very feen to show off how great her body still looks! The London setting is not bad actually, but most of the acst look rather out of their depth.

Trashy fun, and I'm wondering if that deleted bisexual threesome will be on the DVD! (Widely available online...)

    Basic Rubbish...

This was a very disappointing sequel. I class Basic Instinct as one of my greatest films, and this follow-up proved that when you have a blockbuster hit, you should leave it well alone! Not only was the sequel completely disconnected to the first edition, it was based in London, with English actors that didn't continue the dramatic and tense stroyline that it had in its American region.

I practically know the prequel line for line, and that was another disappointing factor to this sequel, as it stole several of the originial lines which were not delivered well at all. Evern Sharon Stone's character Catherine Tremmell's voice was overdone, She was sultry in the first movie, but this was ridicolous, very hard to be taken seriously. They even made Catherine look as though she was some dumb, hooker-like mental psycho which is the total opposite of her character in the first one. AND no mention of Michael Douglas in the followup, so what happend to their relationship there???

Catherine Tremmell was how I imagine Madonna to currently be, growing old disgracefully. Rubbish sequel, and not worthy of a DVD release.

As good as the previous one

I really don't understand why the critic was that hard with this movie. I liked very much the first part and this second part is very good. Sharon Stone is even prettier than in the first one; the plot is maintain and both movies are related and continuing the main idea with the same intrigue; the production is marvelous, every detail was carefully watch and finally the city of London is taken in its very best views. To those who enjoyed Basic Instinct 1 definitely I recommend to watch this sequence.I really don't understand why the critic was that hard with this movie. An insult

This film is so boring I actually felt insulted. If you have more rewarding things to do like counting the hairs on your left forearm, do it. I most definitely wish I had (your forearm or mine, I wouldn't care). Utterly forgettable.

    A chemical peel surely?

All the reviews gloss over the actual storyline, which I think is better than the original, particularly the ambiguous ending, but the dialogue is really poor. Sharon Stone looks like she's been seriously chemically peeled, because you don't see skin like that even on baby's backsides. And those breasts definitely are not original (clue here - normal breasts don't stay perky when a woman's lying back being given one).

So, it's Sharon Stone but you wouldn't know it, and her performance is truly appalling. Definitely the worst thing in the film (I think London comes off best). So, stick with the original and give this one a very wide swerve.

Sharon Stone naked......great! Basic Instinct 2.....sucks!

Fans of the first film (of which I am one) will find the second installment to be disappointing. Indeed Sharon Stone looks fabulous and plays the part of the sexy & sassy Catherine Tramell every bit as well as she did in the first Basic Instinct but the story (or lack of it) just does not work and lets the film down. This film could have been so much better with help from a stronger support cast from the great british actors/actresses that we have such as Sean Pertwee, Kate Beckinsale, Ray Winston or Emma Thompson that would have complimented the London skyline.

.. basically addicted to SS !

Not nearly as bad as some reviews might suggest, and definately worth a rent. OK, Ms Stone can't act for toffee, but she looks a million dollars and is so sexy for a woman of her age.

An interesting storyline and a great thriller, with great London locations which is always good to see.

Watch out for Stan Collymore at the beginning of the film. A future in film beckons for the lad! - not !!
