Batman And Robin

The Caped Crusader returns to battle the abominable Mr. Freeze and green-thumbed Poison Ivy. To save his ailing wife, Dr. Victor Fries turns to a life of crime after a hideous accident makes him unable to tolerate even moderate temperatures, while Dr. Pamela Isley falls victim to mutated plant DNA when things go awry in a jungle laboratory funded by Wayne Industries. Of course, though their interests are diametrically opposed (Freeze wants another Ice Age; Ivy wants to make the world safe for plants), the two villains team up to defeat Gotham's dynamic duo of Batman and Robin, who are joined by butler Alfred's motorcycle-obsessed niece as Batgirl. And when Alfred is diagnosed as having the same terminal disease as Freeze's wife, the trio find themselves not only fighting an altruistic battle, but a personal one as well. A frenetic, colorful, and often overwhelming sequel to "Batman," "Batman Returns," and "Batman Forever."

If the original Spencer Gordon Bennet serial was a disappointment, its sequel was nigh on a disaster. With Lewis Wilson and Douglas Croft consigned to well-merited obscurity, Robert Lowery and John Duncan assumed the mantles of Bruce Wayne and Dick Grayson, while Lyle Talbot stepped in as Commissioner Gordon. However, there's little suspense in their pursuit of the Wizard, a master criminal out to secure the diamonds needed to operate the ray gun he's stolen from eccentric professor, William Fawcett. Made in a hurry and on the cheap, this is the undoubtedly the nadir of the Caped Crusader's screen career.

don't be afraid to use your nails boys!

Batman and robin is one of the worst films ever made. Period. It is so bad that you find yourself watching it in horror for 2 hours. Its like watching a car accident unfold, you cant tear your eyes away. Joel Schumacher destroyed the batman movies which had started so brilliantly and so darkly with Tim Burton's original Batman. Its not unlike the 60's tv series for shear campness though i think that show realised that it was a load of crap.

Many questions arise when watching batman and robin. How did george clooney revive his career after starring in this? Why the hell did anyone ever think that chris o'donnal and alicia silverstone were decent actors? (whats up with her accent?!?) And where did i leave my shotgun? If you ever plan to do anything bad watch this movie beforehand, because they'll be playing it on a continuous loop in hell...

    Horrendous

There isn’t a good bit about 'Batman & Robin'. It’s pure rubbish from start to finish.

I’m quite a big fan of the Batman films. The original 'Batman' was very good, 'Batman Returns' was good and 'Batman Forever' was alright. 'Batman Begins' was brilliant, probably the best (Christian Bale was hands-down the best Batman ever).

'Batman & Robin' was abysmal, the acting was terrible. Poor performances all round. George Clooney as Batman? As soon as I read he was Batman in this film I laughed. Arnold was terrible too, one of his worst performances (not that he’s a particularly good actor anyway). Uma Thurman was also very disappointing. She is such a talented actress but was dreadful.

The whole idea of Robin is completely stupid in my opinion; he drags both 'Batman Forever' and 'Batman & Robin' down. Again, poor acting by Chris O’Donnell.

The script is awful, the special effects are seriously over-the-top and the movie is filled with cringe-making one-liners from pretty much every character.

Easily the worst Batman film of the four, Joel Schumacher should be ashamed.

    Rent it at your peril.

    The Number 23

    • 19 Feb 2007

February 3. Walter Sparrow (Jim Carrey) is late for his own birthday date. Which means his wife Agatha (Virginia Madsen) has time to kill. She wanders into a bookstore, 'A Novel Fate', and idly picks up a self-published manuscript by one Topsy Kretts: 'The Number 23', a novel of obsession. When Walter reads it he can't believe it. Here, in the guise of a pulp detective mystery, is the story of his life. The trouble is, the book's hero, 'Fingerling', becomes so obsessed with the number 23 he... Read more
