Batty about cats
By Spud72 from Hertfordshire , 10 Feb 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
The animation is very smooth and the characterisation true to the classic magazine. The storyline is believable in context and the plot twists are not telegraphed ahead of time so that near the end when the question of "Who is Batwoman" is answered it is still a suprise. Overall I enjoyed film and look forward to more in the series.- Was this review helpful to you?

(12)Batman in a simpler age
By Jeremiaz (18 reviews) from London , 22 Apr 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
More like Batman of the comics/early TV than the recent dark re-envisioning. A charming romp in the style of 70's/80's animation.- Was this review helpful to you?

Batwoman ugh..
By yeismeload (11 reviews) from Edinburgh , 18 Sep 2011Let me start off by saying I'm a fan of plenty of female comic characters, such as Wonder Woman, Jean Gray (most of the x-men female mutants for that matter), catwoman, etc, the list goes on but you get my idea. That being said, I have always loathed the ones who are exact carbon copies of the already existing male superhero, as they bring nothing new to the table in most cases, and are shallow imitations largely created during the 60's and 70's to cater to the sex lib era. Supergirl, Batgirl, Batwoman, Spider-woman...ugh. At least this gave her a unique costume I guess, instead of just putting batman's costume on a female body. This movie pales in comparison to the excellent Mask of the Phantasm for the Animated Series, and this is often the case when shallow characters are introduced as central to the plot. We have plenty of unique and kickass superheroes and supervillains who happen to be women, the trend of slapping tna on characters like batman and superman should just stop once and for all.- Was this review helpful to you?

Go with the early stuff
By a customer from Plymouth , 02 Apr 2008As always with Batman:TAS the voices and animation are quality but this adds nothing to the Batman story as a whole and lacks the gothic edginess and originality of the first volumes. Start with Vol 1 and give this a miss. Boring.- Was this review helpful to you?
