This is what you can only describe as a waste. You have the greatest screen martial arts star of the time and you bring him to America to star in a film and you don't allow him to fight in his own style. The thing that always made Jackie's Asian films so good was that he always looked like the underdog. In this film he is the only "fighter" who looks remotely believeable. What Jackie does looks good to a point, but he was not allowed to show what he could do by the director. Robert Clouse, who directed Enter The Dragon with Bruce Lee may as well have had Mr Chan in chains. It comes as no surprise that this did not break Jackie Chan in America. This turned out to be a very bad idea.
As Jackie Chan's first American movie, it is clear why he did not manage to penetrate the US market until many years later.
The action was very poor, with fight sequences being very obviously choreographed and slow - not realistic at all.
