A must for war film fans
By roncoach (365 reviews) from suffolk , 02 Sep 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
I have always liked this war film about the interesting Panzer commander ( brilliantly played by Robert Shaw) who attempts to change the course of the War.
This battle is famous in history and on the screen; but this looks at it from a different viewpoint. And it is enhanced by that.
Excellent supporting cast, excellent photography and action scenes.
A 'must-see' for any WWII film fan.- Was this review helpful to you?

(22)Good action mawkish dailogue
By itstinks (681 reviews) from North of Reading , 09 Jan 2012Impressive battle scenes of real events that contributed to the defeat of Germany in the WW2.
Have recently been watching Band of Brothers and very impressed by the natural dailogue and situations that were portrayed in that, even allowing for having to compress thins in this film so as to fit the story in, it still is brim full of unlikely scenarios and Hollywood dialogue which takes away from the power of the film.- Was this review helpful to you?

Battle to stay interested
By RJNeb2 (922 reviews) from London , 17 Nov 2011In 1944 the Nazis made one last offensive in the Ardennes mountains, catching the Allies by surprise. This is a no-expense-spared account compressed down to 3 hours that offers up enough spectacle to keep us interested. However, Annakins handling of the dialogue scenes is stiff and awkward meaning that sometimes this 3 hours feels a bit longer than it should be.- Was this review helpful to you?

Wrong tanks
By cptrelentless (33 reviews) from London , 21 Mar 2011The vehicles in this are all inaccurate, the Abrams is not a German tank of the era. You can't paint a swastica on something and pretend it's accurate- Was this review helpful to you?
