Shouln't have rented this - it's not as good as I remember when I was a kid. I remembered it as being brilliant. Take my advice and leave memories as memories!
If, like me, you watched and loved Battle Of The Planets as a child, then I strongly advise you not to watch this as an adult. Keep those fond memories unpolluted by the painful reality: it's awful. The animation is poor, the plot is almost non-existent, the dialogue is abyssmal. The camp robot's monologues are long and horrifically unfunny, and seem as though they were added on afterwards in a vain attempt to explain the senseless storylines. I can only think an awful lot was lost in translation from the original Japanese.
