I watched “Battle Tanker” simply to see Callum Blue in something other than “Dead Like Me.” I was not disappointed in Callum’s performance but he and the rest of the cast are struggling to make sense of a poorly constructed plot. It is a ‘disaster movie’ where a small group of experts are pitted against a potential calamity in a worsening situation. The fact that they are up against impossible odds is added to by the opposition of a pig-headed military type of anti-hero.

It could work, and almost does but there are glaring gaps in the logic of the plot such as, ‘why the hero and heroine are the only ones to save the day and just what is it they have to do? Such details, that would make the whole thing hang together, are just not there. The special effects were done on too small a budget and fail to convince. Sorry to put in a spoiler but just why the hero has to sacrifice himself is not clear and not explained. All in all a disappointment.

From the look of it, this film came in well under budget. I think the budget was about 25p! The scriptwriter needs at least another two years in primary school.

Battle Stinker.

I could not believe how bad this film is, The script is absolutely terrible, the acting is even worse and the computer graphics look like they have been done on an old ZX Spectrum computer. If you are thinking about renting it. DON'T.

Cant believe they still make films with such a poor quality. I have seen better thunderbirds film sets. This is a shocking low budget film. Dont waste your time on this, go and watch some paint dry instead !
