Battlestar started off as a snuff film (4.5 stars)
By Nigel Stafford from England , 16 May 2005[Highly rated reviewer]
Finally the've put philosophical intelligence back into science fiction - and it's been a while. Excellent casting, sterling performances, stunning visuals, a cryptic plot, and good chemistry between the characters, sets this version of Battleship Galactica light years ahead of its predecessor. The more you watch the more you are drawn in. The robots are scarier - humanities plight more precarious - and the episodes are all part of a grander scheme - this is compulsory viewing - particularly for space buffs.- Was this review helpful to you?

(192)Unsatisfying ending leaves too many unresolved questions
By AJF (12 reviews) from Swindon , 25 Mar 2013Well the Cylons may have a plan, but I don't think the writers did. For me, the ending was completely unsatisfying and left too many loose ends and unanswered questions. It's a pity because for the most part this was an enjoyable watch. There are several episodes which get bogged down in political nonsense, where nothing much happens. So I think overall the number of series could have been reduced. But my biggest problem was the final ending, which left me with too many questions. Any film/series which prompts me to consult the Internet for answers has failed. There is a lot discussion about what really happened, and trying to make sense of things that don't get explained properly. It just feels like very lazy writing. So overall I have to give this a sub-average rating.- Was this review helpful to you?

The BSG New Vs the old BSG.
By Trevie1970 (4 reviews) from High Wycombe , 27 Feb 2013BSG, It was a good series all the way through, and wanted to definitely get to the end. I was brought up on the old BSG, and when I first saw the airing of the new BSG, I felt it wasn't the same. but a few years later I wanted to watch it from the start and kind of glad that I did, although it was easier to watch as the series progressed. I also found that the repeat of sections throughout, seem to be keeping iterated which seem to lap back to a few episodes back, which I found confusing and jumping about from scene to scene in places so the continuity could be better. plenty of twists and turn along the way, which I liked and made me want to return again for the next chapter.- Was this review helpful to you?

Don't order the mini series first!
By a customer , 03 Nov 2012Contrary to the advice given by another reviewer - you don't need to see it separately. It's the first disc of the BluRay series as I now know to my disappointment.- Was this review helpful to you?

Brilliant Series
By Orchidroom (13 reviews) , 26 Jun 2012Battlestar Galactica is great on all levels. If you like any sci-fi you'll love this. The twists and turns as the seasons progress will keep you on the edge of your seat. Everyone says it gets better as as the series progress and it's true! Well written, the characters develop and you'll love the ones you hate in the end!- Was this review helpful to you?
