By JT from Weymouth , 09 Nov 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
Warning - Disc 6 is called 'The Story so Far' and is just a recap of Series 1 & 2 of the show - absolutely pointlesss when you've just watched discs 1-5 of Season 3!!!
The rest of Season 3 is excellent - no complaints there!!- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer from Midlands , 21 May 2012I was always a little skeptical about prisoner dramas and I was right. This season is a little naff and slow in places, but it picks up when they escape.- Was this review helpful to you?

Discs 1 & 2
By a customer from London , 17 Dec 2010Jaw droppingly brilliant. I ended up renting BSG because I like a bit of sci fi now and again to lighten the mood. But this is so much more than sci fi. Engaging, human, dark, great characters. Great acting, particularly Mary McDonnell. And it's so great to see an older woman have such a big role. Infact all the womens roles are really strong ones. I can't remember the last time I was so engaged by something on the telly.- Was this review helpful to you?

not as good as previous seasons
By Ant (32 reviews) from Gloucester , 24 Apr 2010BSG takes a real dip in form with this series, it is just disappointing compared to the previous 2 - they are obviosuly running out of ideas. Too much concentrating on interpersonal relationships between characters - soap time. the 1st episode was so boring - I flicked through the entire episode - all revolving around a boxing contest. Hope series 4 gets back on track.- Was this review helpful to you?

The struggle for survival intensifies
By BKieser (36 reviews) from Brampton , 12 Oct 2009This series is the 'Empire Strikes Back' equivalent for BSG. It brings a lot more darkness to the series. The characters become a lot more human... or cylon... and the struggle to survive intensifies. Their dream is shattered, New Caprica is now a living hell under Cylon occupation and the people turn against each other as we have seen so many times in reality in times of extreme oppression.
You sense that the fleet is racing to a calamity point that some sense, others are a part of and others merely stumbling into as they continue to struggle to come to terms with what has happened to them.
This is the series where everything falls to pieces. If the fleet was a clay jug, this is where the Cylon hammer smashes it to pieces and what the Cylons don't break, humanity destroys. Yet still they hold on by a thread and sometimes, just by sheer good luck.
This is the series that brings true darkness to the BSG story and is by far the most intense series thus far.- Was this review helpful to you?
