I loved the first three seasons of Battlestar Galactica but the fourth was just terrible. After the first six or seven episodes it just goes dramatically downhill with stupid plots that make no sense at all. There were several episodes I could barely watch right the way through they were so boring. I persevered though, and watched all two hours (felt like six) of the finale, constantly hoping it would get better, but unfortunately it didn't. There's far too many story lines that are way back in the past before the stike on New Caprica that are just tedious and completely unnecessary.
The end of Prison Break better be a lot better than this garbage.
Loved every single season including the final season. however, i'm not sure if the final episodes nicely tied up all the loose ends but i will have to watch it again when its on dvd to see if it did (too much info to digest). the epic adventure has so many twists and turns you cannot predict which makes it so exciting and for this viewer , the best TV series ever made! the missus (who normally hates anything sci-fi l) is a huge fan also and happens to agree with me...didn't see that coming either! recommended to anyone who love shows about human relations, politics, war, sci-fi, mystery, suspense and raw emotion.
very disappointing end to what was an excellent series. Writers, director(s), actors: they all exhausted themselves.
I know the new Battlestar Galatica is more grimy, grown up, adult and full of gritty realism exactly the opposite to the original Battlestar. But does it really have to be so nihilistic, deterministic and grim ?
After watching the first series, I skipped through the second and got to the last disc, ( like turning to the last few pages of a detective novel to find out whodunnit ) to see what happened.
I felt a big sense of relief that I never have to deal with this depressing series again. I don't mind things dark but there has to be a sense of hope somewhere.
I know there are a lot of modern battlestar fans out there, it's just my opinion, but I don't like it.

The final section to an absolutly fine crafting of a true sci-fi gem. The whole team and cast have produced a saga of epic proportions, with the 'demise and rebirth' of the human race as a inter-woven theme..I must confess to a tear!
Drawn deep, in a way the 'old' series never quite managed, I could not stop untill the very end.The filtering of pre-strike scenes is performed with a fine touch, to allow explanation to unravel as you flow along.
All I could wish for is a version that joined it into a near continual show without the startup and credits every 45 minutes.
This series is a must and should be seen as almost an opus of 2001 quality.
The Final season is excellent however I do not recommend it if you are just a casual BSG watcher and have not seen ALL the previous seasons.
My only criticism is that it is too short with only 11 episodes (Don't bother with disc 4 as it only contains extras)
Perhaps when you watch a series for a long time this is common but the ending was haunting. When considered with the events of the past up till the present, the characters grew significantly. I do love that feeling of a series well carried out : ). Any complaints I have are pretty immaterial considering everything.
I feel cheated and a bit betrayed by the ending.
i loved the first 3 seasons but I think they went way over their head with storylines and didn't know how to answer some questions . They played quick tricks and use mysticism as a smokescreen. The last scene was so stupid. I really feel betrayed.
My partner enjoyed this I think its a mans thing
really enjoyed first three series but it seems to be unravelling! different writers every episode mean there is no consistency in continuing storylines like starbuck/lee/sam and laura and bill. the guius (spelling?) character has really gone off the boil since they made him into jesus with groupies, hope the last few episodes really pick up!
a fine ending to an excellent series, it will be missed
