    [Highly rated reviewer]

John Travolta & Uma Thurman are fantastic in this. A follow up to Get shorty.

Travolta finds a young girl being treated badly by her current employer and takes her under his wing, he believes in her and sets her up with a record deal.

An apperarance from Aerosmith, this film is so good it almost had me dancing in my seat at the cinema.

    Definatley one to watch !!!

John Travolta and Uma Thurman are pretty good in a comedy romance in the music industry. Just an OK watchable average film.

Get Shorty was a great film. Be Cool is a god awful follow up and has no redeeming features. Rent Get Shorty and forget this ever happened.

SIGH!! Remember 'Get Shorty'? Well sadly nobody who had anything to do with this movie did. As far as bad sequels go, this one has gotta rate up there with Jaws 3 and 4 and Spider-Man 3. Kinda ironic dontcha think when Travolta's 'Chili Palmer' mouths the line, 'I hate sequels' in this puke fest. Pity Travolta himself doesnt feel the same way. I mean, he did do 'Staying Alive' after all ('best use of a head band in a movie' award 1983 - just kidding). Be Cool is nothing but a wrung out, over hyped, clichéd, unfunny, uninspired, stale, boring, cheesy, cringeworthy, pityful and shamelessly pathetic attempt to launch Christina Milian as the next big thing out of the ever expanding bowel movement of popcorn bulls**t celluloid that is Hollywood.

Having said that, I dont have a good goddamn thing to write about this garbage. Oh ok, i'll fire out an honorable mention to Dwayne Johnson. The one bright spark in the midst of this entire mess and my reason for giving this a higher rating. I dunno what it is folks. More and more lately I just find myself left bewildered and at a loss for words almost after viewing most modern movies. I'm not being critical for the sake of it, I would just love to have an audience with the people who are green lighting projects like this. In Travolta's case, I dont know if it's his Scientology connections sorting his deals for him or what (he did get the green light on 'Battlefield Earth' after all) but somebody's agreeing to this crap.

This is one of these reviews that i'm gonna have to cut short because there's just too much ground to cover and it REALLY pissed me off. Mainly though its the casting of people like Christina Milian or Ludacris in Max Payne (or anything!) or Snoop in Starsky & Hutch or Justin Timberlake in The Love Guru. You know what I mean? Anyone or anything these parasite Agents or Movie execs can think of to promote their 90 minute piece of crap and get asses in seats or plug albums or colognes or clothing lines or whatever trash their name or 'ahem!' artist is attached to.

This entire movie stinks of irony. Chili Palmer disillusioned with the movie industry? Get to the back of the muthaf***in line, hair plugs!

  • Comedy movie with John Travolta - Worth to see

Disenchanted with the movie industry, Chili Palmer (John Travolta) tries the music industry, meeting and romancing a widow of a music exec (Uma Thurman) on the way.
