By Tegan Kniveton from LOVEFiLM
Audrey Tautou reteams with the director of Priceless for another quirky French rom-com.

Charming Funny and Engaging
By mk2009 (42 reviews) from Cardiff , 23 Aug 2011[Highly rated reviewer]
I am a big fan of French films, Beautiful Lies does not disappoint. It is charming and subtly funny, shot in a lovely coastal town with neurotic layered characters. Audrey Tautou is great and Sami Bouajila is very funny as the confused blackmailed love interest.
I would really recommend this film.- Was this review helpful to you?

(70)A bit of a flat one
By fruitybananacupcake (4 reviews) , 03 Sep 2012Very slow and quite predictable with a 'make it all up as you go along' feel to it. Laughs are rare and the whole thing unfolds in a slightly over dramamtic series of beyond-belief posturing that ruins what could have easily been a pretty good movie.- Was this review helpful to you?

Waste of a rental
By a customer , 28 Aug 2012Slightly amusing nonsense. Tatou is getting a bit old for the cuteness. The storyline is bit like Amelie, which is infinitely superior and made Tatou's name.- Was this review helpful to you?

Very disappointing
By Abi77 (1 review) , 29 Jul 2012Very disappointing. I usually enjoy French films and I like Audrey Tatou (I loved Amelie) but this was a poorly written story about some fairly unpleasant and annoying people. I switched it off after 1 hour as I couldn't tolerate it any longer. One to avoid!- Was this review helpful to you?

Ultimately disappointing
By NickVys (2 reviews) , 26 Jul 2012Initially annoying, briefly entertaining, ultimately unsafisfying. A fairly straightforward romantic comedy which tries to be clever and doesn't really quite manage it...
NB - can't say I found anything wrong with the subtitles though, and I don't speak a word of French...- Was this review helpful to you?

Light Hearted and funny.
By againagain (8 reviews) from UK , 21 Jul 2012This is the second French subtitled film that I have accidently ordered. On giving the first one a go - the conclusion was 'Excellent'. This time, when the titles started, my wife and I went - 'Oh no, not again!'. However, we decided to give it a chance and were not disappointed. This is a charming and amusing film and after a while, we totally forgot that it was in French! If you have trouble seeing subtitles(cut off at the bottom of the screen), remember that you can always change you screen format on you television, which should fix this.- Was this review helpful to you?
