Because I Said So

Keaton stars as Daphne Wilder, a mother whose love knows no bounds or boundaries. She is the proud mother of three daughters: stable psychologist Maggie (Graham), sexy and irreverent Mae (Perabo) and insecure, adorable Milly (Moore) - who, when it comes to men, is like psychotic flypaper.

In order to prevent her youngest from making the same mistakes she did, Daphne decides to set Milly up with the perfect man. Little does Milly know, however, that her mother placed an ad in the online personals to find him. Comic mayhem unfolds as Daphne continues to do the wrong thing for the right reasons... all in the name of love.

    Funny yet thoughtful!

I think any woman can relate to this film: a mother who finds it difficult to accept her baby daughter has grown up and is a person in her own right! The film and script was dealt with in a very intelligent and funny way. But the REAL story is not so much about the mother trying to make love happen for her daughter, but in reality she realised it was herself and her lack of love in HER life that she was running away from. The end is sweet. Watch it, it's a really good film.

    • 08 Apr 2009

Singer/actress Mandy Moore is desperate to break away from her girl-next-door image - because she's struggling to land decent movie roles. The clean-living star is known for family-friendly films like 2007's Because I Said So and 2006's American Dreamz. She has taken a break from her acting career to focus on her music, but admits she has not starred in a movie since 2007's License to Wed because she keeps being offered the same boring roles. And Moore is calling on casting directors to give... Read more
