Funny yet thoughtful!
By a customer from North London , 18 Feb 2007[Highly rated reviewer]
I think any woman can relate to this film: a mother who finds it difficult to accept her baby daughter has grown up and is a person in her own right! The film and script was dealt with in a very intelligent and funny way. But the REAL story is not so much about the mother trying to make love happen for her daughter, but in reality she realised it was herself and her lack of love in HER life that she was running away from. The end is sweet. Watch it, it's a really good film.- Was this review helpful to you?

(318)Keaton just wrecks this movie
By whp8 (21 reviews) from Sturminster Newton , 19 Nov 2012Dear me, I thought Keaton could act. She just overacts her way through this like a total amateur. The other women are good, as are the men, and the concept works, but Diane Keaton just wrecks the movie. She fails to pull off the 'overbearing but loving mother', just being utterly overbearing, one just can't see why any daughter would put up with her. And the sexually frank relationship between mother and daughters fails to be cute and is just icky. Well worth avoiding, the film just doesn't work.- Was this review helpful to you?

Mum knows best
By a customer , 07 Jun 2012Loved this film and Diane Keaton is as always has that type of way in films which is enduring. Mother knows best for her children, so is protective of her siblings. Unable to let go of her younger child who has all grown up. Very funny in places and the interview's alone are worth a titter.- Was this review helpful to you?

Because I said so...is so-so
By sdfilm (125 reviews) from Oxon , 31 Jan 2012A nice film for a rainy day, but not exactly taxing or gripping. Diane Keaton's character is super annoying as well. It's a bit sickly sweet in parts too.- Was this review helpful to you?

Don't bother !
By Tonitimm (29 reviews) from Norfolk, UK , 21 Jan 2012I thought this would be good but was very disappointed, and turned it off. Very jumbled and disjointed, we couldn't cope with it anymore, such a shame as Diane Keaton is normally good to watch.- Was this review helpful to you?
