[Highly rated reviewer]A so-so family film that's all been done before, and better. Parents, do yourself a favour, stick it on for the kids on a Sunday morning and go back to bed. You won't miss much but the kids will enjoy it.
It's a 'nice' story about a little girl who 'rescues' a stray dog and they become inseperable friends. Her mother abandoned her when she was three and her father is a priest that moves around dragging her with him, making it difficult for her to make friends.
Like I said, it's all been done before. Everything about the film is OK but it doesn't shine in any department.

A Stray Doggy StoryBy Emjay69 (341 reviews) from Kidlington, Oxford , 25 Jul 2011Good for kids and adults too. The whole production is a bit ragged but it gets there in the end and is definitely worth watching.
charming family filmBy a customer , 02 Jul 2011Charming, old-fashioned family film with cute dog.
Well acted with plenty of humour and some sad bits.
My two girls, aged 10 and 11 loved it.
Magical!By a customer from Beddington , 08 Aug 2010If you enjoy movies about people and relationships you'll enjoy watching this movie! It deals with loss, loneliness and how a young child (Opal) managed to bridge the gap after she befriended a mongrel dog she called Winn Dixie (after a US Supermarket Chain where she met the dog). This is a real tear jerker, so bring out the tissues!
