(68)Timeless Classic
By auldyin (9 reviews) , 19 Dec 2012A Disney classic for all the family, good fun all round, watched it as I hadn't seen it in years and was certainly not disappointed.- Was this review helpful to you?

Childhood flooding back!
By Mantolwen (3 reviews) , 14 Dec 2012I used to watch this film when I was little and today I finally watched it again. Absolutely brilliant! Maybe a bit of stereotyping in parts (especially Portobello Road) but despite that it still makes me laugh 15 years after I first watched it. All the songs and the storyline came flooding back, and of course there was the added humour of understanding some of the jokes added for the adults that would pass over a child's head. In my opinion, this ought to be a classic.- Was this review helpful to you?

Showing it's age.
By a customer , 03 Dec 2012Revisited this with hopes of rekindling childhood memories. I was really surprised at my reaction. I think that for a film made 26 years after the end of the war it shows a surprising amount of jingoism and views like a film made during the war itself to raise the morale of the population! The story is good, the songs not so, and the accents laughable. You'd think it was a parody. Sadly, it shows it's age. Also we had sound problems which didn't help.- Was this review helpful to you?

Harry Potter may've an invisibility cloak......
By Erin81 (17 reviews) , 27 Aug 2012[Highly rated reviewer]
Haven't seen this film for years and thought I would with my daughters. They were enthralled by it.
The only issue was my 7 year old requested historical information on the real-life drama in the film- so be prepared if you have an inquisitive child!
Wonderful- watch it with your family and remember why they are a classic!- Was this review helpful to you?

Bedtrams and moodflicks
By cartridge (5 reviews) from Southampton , 27 Jul 2012Bedknobs and Broomsticks - A resourceful and splendid account of a book by Mary Norton. The blend of characters and scenery changes keep this a thrilling and adventure centred film with great potential for live theatre production, if Cameron Mackintosh could work with the Sherman brothers on this one! There is little doubt that this is Disney at his best and a bit of a reprise in best special effects academy award after Mary Poppins. The tone is occasionally melancholy but not artistically negative as its mood makes the whole picture work.- Was this review helpful to you?
