Again? Really?By MickeyMouse3000 (299 reviews) from Dorset, England , 16 Jan 2009Yes, believe it or not they have made yet another Beethoven movie. And no, it isn't nearly as good as the first one. I'm not saying it's rubbish - I personally enjoyed it, but the quality of the first movie is totally absent here. This is very much straight-to-dvd low budget light entertainment. From a critic's point of view, they really should have left it at the first one, which was a classic dog movie. But alas, here we are again with Beethoven's 5th and more silly shenanigans with everyone's favourite sloppy chops, Beethoven. I know it's kind of pointless to nit-pick with this type of film, as it's all just a bit of fun and not to be taken seriously, but I have to say that Beethoven didn't really seem very important to the story this time around. In the previous adventures Beethoven has been much more in the spotlight and was the main part of the story. With this, they could actually have done it without him - not that I wanted them to. Nevertheless, it is pretty good and ideal for a lazy sunday afternoon. Oh and don't be foolish by thinking it ends with this. They have indeed made another one called Beethoven's Big Break. Aptly titled, let's hope they do infact finally give the poor dog a big break!
To manyBy Tony Dennis from England , 23 May 2007Beethoven 5th need to stop making them very poor compared to the early ones about as exciting as watching paint dry., the dog is still great but very low on story
Beethoven's 5th Okay.By Cornetto (959 reviews) from Lancaster , 09 Apr 2007Okay, in all honesty the kids liked the 5th instalment of Beethoven, although they dont watch it as much as some of the others. I think the previous Beethovens have been much better. Beethoven digs up an old ten dollar bill, and the adventures begin.
