Good memoriesBy dogboy from London , 08 Jul 2004
[Highly rated reviewer]I watched this classic tv series in the early 1970's, all I could remember was loving the theme music, the haunting cinematography and that the villains always drove black citroens.
Its just as good as I remember, some of the acting is awful and the dubbing is a bit patchy, but I'd forgotten the very frightening french lady who leans across a table and stares into the screen to update you at the start of every episode.
A great trip down memory lane!

WowBy a customer from Reading UK , 08 Jun 2007An absolute must. A real tear jerker. Wonderful music. Sit down for the afternoon girls.
Time warpBy Marie Ratcliffe from South Yorkshire, England , 13 Aug 2006This is what heaven must be. A blast from the past. I remember watching this in the 70's as a child and I must say how much I enjpyed it. You must remember when watching this when it was made and in those days technology wasn't what it is today. It's a plain old fashion kids programme that all the family can sit down to watch. It tells the story of sebastian, a young boy adopted at birth when his mother dies in the Alpes. The boy is bullied through out his 7 years of life and tell the story of his struggle and the love and bond that is built up with his companion Belle
Belle & SebastianBy Kenneth Simpson from Dundee, Scotland , 21 Jun 2006Now you know here then name for the Brits award winning group came from!!!!! I loved French woman at the beginning of the episodes giving you the synopsis so far, in fact we would mimick her!!!! so funny!!! Anway you had to wade through a story that could have been over al lot quicker!!! But it gave you idea of how country folk in France had to live before IKEA!!! and this is in the time when France gave us the Citreon DS!!!!
Otherwise a good moral in this tale, and although I found the wee boy in the film a wee bit irritating, maybe he was meant to be potrayed as that, then very good acting!!! So a bit of stamina required for this one. I would watch half of each DVD per night!!!
Thanks for the memory...NOT!By Phil Wardle from Liverpool , 15 May 2006As a child I LOVED Belle and Sebastian. It was one of the highlights of a very limited children's TV selection in the 1960s.
Sadly it has not aged well - the picture quality is very poor and I'd forgotten about the dubbed sound.
I'd suggest that, if you remember this, stick to your own memories - rewatching will only disappoint. Be warned!
