  • Gay Pride?

    Rated - 5.0 stars

    [Highly rated reviewer]

Having been on the Gay Pride March four days ago, I remarked to my friends that we don't need Gay Pride as much today as we have come such a long way? Then I saw this film! Having seen the play, twice, I thought the film would not cut the mustard. How wrong, it is equally harrowing and horrific. How dare I forget? How easy is it to be complacent? A must see for everyone, especially queer sexual men.

  • what a disappointment!

I have to confess that I chose 'Bent' because of its cast. Unfortunatelly for me, I deeply regret it. I actually stopped watching it after 20 minutes and put it back in its plastic protection. It was too much for me. Despite the 'gay' topic of Bent, I think the director could have presented it in a more classy, more distinguished way. I thought it was vulgar, unsatisfying, disturbing, boring. A total waste of time! Not to advise, great disappointment! I am still wondering why these actors have accepted to play in it? Knowing McKellen, Owen and the rest, I would have thought that would have performed in a movie that depicts better the gay situation during the war. The sex scenes are just not necessary.

I quite liked this one. Very moving in parts. Clive Owen is always great and Mick Jagger was a real surprise.

I'm not quite sure what i expected from this movie, but I thought the acting was dyer, cold and flat.

I really didn't like it. I thought it boring.

I really enjoyed this film and it stayed with me for a long time. Clive Owen is very good in it as per usual but the actor who plays his love interest in the concentration camp steals the show. The dignity and pride he portays are completely believable. I would strongly recommend it just for the performance of the two main leads.

  • Pretty boring and unconvincing

It might work as a stage play, but as a film, it certainly doesn't. I kept watching to see if something would happen, and was utterly bored by the film's end.
