This film should definately not be a 12!

It was way too gory and violent. From the very first scene it was just disgusting. I hated every moment of it and only stayed to watch it because we had paid to watch it at the cinema.

This film is not half bad you know.

Firstly without spoiling anything for those of you 15+, this film in know way is a 12. I don't know what the specifics are of the rating system but wow this one crept under the radar, maybe the animation allows for this, but my oh my its graphic.

Blood & Guts rule this animated film and whilst it is (in my opinion) required by the story, it is a bit OTT.

Anyway, as far as the story & acting goes...

Story: Generally the poem is played out here, i think changes have occurred that allow for cinematic artistry, as with most paper-screen adaptions, but that aside its a very good story of good vs evil and how evil is always sly and can poison even the stout of hearts.

The voice acting (Anthony Hopkins, Jolie, Malkovitch, Winstone and of course the always great Brendan Gleeson) is second to none. The graphics of the animation are so fantastically good that it holds up to almost every game available now, let alone most films now. Its so realistic.

Everything about this was pretty good. Except well the 12 rating. the film is a good film, and deserves a 3. 5/5 but the rating seriously needs re-evaluating.

Im yet to see an animated film better than this, but again this is different, the graphics make it unsurpassed in my book.

You need to see this purely to view the cinematic artistry of the animation style. Then make an opinion of the story based on what you hear as well as see.

Definitely an above average must see. (I cant believe i haven't seen it before today!)

I liked it! It took 20 minutes for me to even notice it was CGI. the voice actors in it are great. Malkovich and Winstone are always great. You'll like it if you like that sort of thing, swords, mead, songs, guts, beasts, swords, mead and more mead. And Hopkins giving a rare Welsh accent. Did I say mead?

this is a good film but you know have to know a little about norse mythology to appreciate the story.

I'm a big fan of Ray Winston so maybe I'm a little biased, either way thought the animation was very good and have loved the story since being a little girl, so enjoyed it immensely
