Captures the essence of the original story

Excellent. I remember watching this at the age of thirteen on BBC2. Sensitively done, well animated and wonderfully narrated by Derek Jaconi. I was a bit annoyed to see a number of negative reviews when people got it mixed up with the Ray Winstone version which, quite frankly, looks like hollywood tripe. This animated version captures the essence of the original story!
