Sit back and let the woman do her thing...

I am a huge fan of Bernadette Peters: she definitely has one of the best belts/personalities in the business. She also looks incredible for her age... even in the dress she wears that is FAR too tight in the first act!!! A great collection of songs, although I was suprised to find that after the first act's collection of what were basically Sondheim songs with a few others, the second act was dedicated purely to the work of... Stephen Sondheim!! Come on Bernie... we know you love the man, but there are lots of composers out there?! Definitely a FAB performance though, and a lot cheaper than a night at the theatre.- Was this review helpful to you?

Bernadette Peters in Concert
By jackjojo (12 reviews) from Sheffield , 04 Aug 2008The Broadway legend, star of 'Into the Woods' 'Gypsy' and 'Sunday in the Park with George' gives a unique and quite original concert, featuring mainly Sondheim songs.
She bravely chooses material not of the usual run of the mill. Its fresh and so innovative, subtle and entirely captivating. Then of course there is the voice!!

A magical concert experience

If you have seen any of her movies you will know that Bernadette Peters is that rare thing - an actress who can make you laugh one minute and have you in tears the next and her concert performance is just as effective. With such an amazing vocal range she makes sure that every song is delivered to ultimate effect - whether it is a Broadway 'belter', a dramatic, poignant number or a funny one. She manages to combine superb artistry with good-humoured entertainment value. She looks fabulous, sounds great and is truly in a class all of her own.- Was this review helpful to you?
