Deception -
Found this film to have been created for the stars of it without creating a film of any interest! great fan of Bette Davis, however can't understand why they have put this in the box set - perhaps to show how hard she can try to make a dull story anyway interesting for her fans.- Was this review helpful to you?

(5)Hollywood Always Wanted Bette To Be Pretty... But She Fought For Realism !!!
By a customer , 10 May 2013'Bette Davis 100th Birthday Box Set'.
I've always been a fan of the old black and white movies, especially Bette Davis.....
So when I saw the 'Bette Davis 100th Birthday Box Set' here for rental, I just had to watch them.
Included in the box set are:
'In This Our Life'
Deception
The Great Lie
'Watch On The Rhine'
On the whole, a very enjoyable box set of Matinee movies.- Was this review helpful to you?

The old maid
By blackanwhitefilmbuff (1 review) , 22 Apr 2013Brilliant film if you like drama, passion and intrigue. Bette at her best playing the wounded, righteous spinster. Can't wait to see the other titles especially Whatever happened to Baby Jane! Really creepy!- Was this review helpful to you?

Watch On The Rhine
By Oldbloke (307 reviews) from Sidmouth , 23 Mar 2013As the Nazis complete their takeover of Europe, an anti-fascist freedom fighter flees with his American wife and their three children to the safety of her mother's stately pile on the outskirts of Washington. But almost immediately a new threat emerges from one of her houseguests. Pious, wordy, forgotten drama is very much of it's time and cannot overcome it's stage origins, but there's no doubting the power of Paul Lukas' Oscar winning perfomance and George Coulouris underplays marvellously as a scheming Romanian Count Teck.- Was this review helpful to you?

About the Old Maid
By a customer from Witham , 24 Jul 2010Another fabulous movie that suits Bette Davis perfectly. Great movie for a rainy afternoon with a storyline from the great black and white era. A must to view for anyone that like Ms Davis.- Was this review helpful to you?
