Better than most
By eternalalien from Sheffield, England , 27 Feb 2004[Highly rated reviewer]
This film was voted Audience Award Winner at The London Lesbian & Gay Film Festival 1999.
It's not surprising! After a derth of decent lesbian movies this came as a breath of fresh air.
It's entertaining, amusing, interesting, and the cast is attractive! - what more could you want?
Oh yes...it's well written and nicely shot.
The film has something to say about all forms of women's and transgendered sexuality without being 'PC'. There are one or two of the usual stereotypes, but on the whole the characters are real and nicely fleshed out. You care about them. It helps that the actors really can act.
All involved give fine performances (the leads can be spotted in many other films and TV shows), but particular mention must be given to Wendy Crewson ('The 6th Day','Bicentennial Man') for her fine comic turn as Maggie's mother.
This is a lighthearted film that you can watch again and again.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer , 16 Sep 2012Ok so lets just start with saying its not the worst film in the world so for that it gets 2 stars, but......... it was so far fetched! The couple confessed their love for one another after like a day and practically moved in with each other staright away?? Just sterio-typing lesbains again. Would i recommend it? Errr... No, its not worth watching really.- Was this review helpful to you?

By a customer , 08 Nov 2011Good ! but still too nice !!
The actors are excellent ! but that is not enough !
If you see only one scene; this is where the truth is seen to hurt : which one was it / you should know !- Was this review helpful to you?

Good... but could have been so much better.
By a customer , 28 Oct 2011This is a good film ! but commits the one very predictable crime of being too nice ! The acting is excellent and the the nuances in the story are superb but these happy endings and total avoidance of any real violence,be it physical or emotional are just not real.
What works best of all are the nuances of the assorted characters which move beyond the categories of cliche and take it into a dirreferent terrain.
What happened to all these actors, they were all so good but to remain in the medium of only one interested group is too easy for any actors and their associated collaborators.- Was this review helpful to you?

Wouldn't watch again
By Rockspd5693 (1 review) from Ramsgate , 21 Jul 2011I found this film a bit unbeleivable, and enhancing lesbian steriotypes. I mean saying love after 3 days?! I would be running! And expecting her to tell her mother about them after a week of being together?! Oh and watch out for the ice sculpture that only starts melting the next day!- Was this review helpful to you?
